College roundup: Fassler's goals power CSUB men's soccer team past Air Force

Evan Fassler came off the bench to score a pair of goals to lead the Cal State Bakersfield men's soccer to a 2-1 victory over Air Force on Friday night at CSUB.
The Roadrunners (7-6-2, 2-3-0 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation) ended a three-match winless skid.
The Falcons (7-6-1, 2-3-0) took a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute on a goal by Kevin Durr.
Fassler tied the match in the 41st minute. He scored 12 minutes into the second half and the 'Runners withstood seven shots by the Falcons in the second half.
CSUB will play its home finale at 1 p.m. Sunday against University of Denver.
CSUB WOMEN'S SOCCER
Veronica Ramos scored her first goal of the season in the 106th minute to give the Cal State Bakersfield women's soccer team a 2-1 double-overtime victory over North Dakota in Grand Forks, N.D.
The win gives the Roadrunners (6-10-2) a program record six NCAA Division I victories. Game-time temperature was 36 degrees with gusting winds around 30 mph.
Former Ridgeview teammates Brittany Thomas and Yesenia Reyes combined to give the 'Runners a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute. Reyes found Thomas for her first goal of the season. The assist was Reyes' second of the year.
Rachael Loomis scored for the Fighting Sioux (2-13-2).
CSUB will host the San Francisco in its season finale at 11 a.m. Sunday.
JC VOLLEYBALL
Brookey Holmes recorded 18 kills and 14 digs as Bakersfield College remained perfect in Western State Conference play with a four-set victory of College of the Canyons at the Gil Bishop Sports Center.
The Renegades (14-4, 7-0) beat the second-place Cougars 25-17, 31-33, 25-16, 25-16. Canyons (5-2 WSC) trails the 'Gades by two games in the conference standings.
Sarah Kurfess tallied 31 digs, and Ashley Parnell added 11 kills, while playing error-free. BC plays at West L.A. at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
JC WOMEN'S SOCCER
Five different players scored goals for the Bakersfield College women's soccer team in a 5-0 home victory over L.A. Mission College.
Terryn Soelberg, Morgan Hagen, Brittany Hunt, Amber Beckham and Cynthia Adams converted for the Renegades (7-7-2), who improved to 5-3-2 in the Western State Conference South Division.
BC will host L.A. Valley at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
