Local report: BC's Krausse wins North/South Cup by three strokes

Bakersfield College women's golfer Ellen Krausse won the North/South Cup by three strokes, shooting a 4-over 76 on Monday at Morro Bay Golf Course.
Krausse, who finished at 5-over 76 on Sunday at Dairy Creek Golf Course, ended the tournament at 9-over 152.
Teammate Katherine James shot 77 in the final round to tie for second with Santa Barbara City's Asaka Sim at 12-over 155.
BC finished second to Sacramento City in the 12-team event. The Renegades were co-leaders after the first round at 335. BC shot 315 Monday to end up at 650. Sacramento City won by eight strokes (335-307--642).
CSUB VOLLEYBALL
Cal State Bakersfield senior libero Kayla Williamson earned NCAA Division I Volleyball Independent Defensive Player of the Week honors for the week ending Oct. 4. It was the second time Williamson has been so honored this season.
The Stockdale High product posted 55 digs and seven service aces in a 3-0 week for the Roadrunners. She currently ranks fifth among all NCAA Division I players by averaging 5.83 digs per set. That mark tops all Division I Independent players.
NBA D-LEAGUE
Bakersfield Jam coach Will Voigt will introduce his coaching staff at a press conference at 3 p.m. today at the Wyndham Garden Hotel, 3001 Buck Owens Blvd. The event is open to season-ticket holders, sponsors and local media.
