Bakersfield College wrapped up the outright Western State Conference South Division volleyball title with a 25-17, 25-12, 25-20 win over Glendale in the regular season finale.
BC (18-5 overall, 11-1 WSC) will learn Sunday who it will play in a first-round playoff match.
This is the fourth straight year BC has qualified for the playoffs, and coach Carl Ferreira said the Renegades have a good chance at hosting a first-round match.
On Thursday, BC had a dominant hitting match. Corissa Alvarez had 10 kills in 12 attempts (an .833 kill percentage), Reisa Fessler had 11 kills in 17 attempts (.647) and Brooke Holmes had 13 kills in 21 tries (.619).
Chelsea Rose had 39 set assists and Sarah Kurfess had 18 digs.
CSUB men swim well at Long Beach
LONG BEACH -- A sixth-place finish by the CSUB men's swimming 400 medley relay team capped a successful opening day at the Toshiba Classic.
The Roadrunner quartet of Luka Leskur, Chad McKenzie, Matt Parsonage and Mark Silvius swam a 3:23.96 in the night's final event on their way to the sixth-place finish in the field of 22. Stanford won the event in 3:12.96, followed by Hawaii in 3:21.12.
"We had a really good first day," said coach Chris Hansen. "This was a good opportunity for our new guys to experience this type of atmosphere and we had a lot of great swims."
McKenzie, Jake Priest, Silvius and Leskur opened the finals session with a 1:27.46, 14th-place finish in the 200 free relay.
The Roadrunners had four finalists in the 50 free, three in the 200 IM and one in the 500 free. Keenan Natyzak swam a personal best 4:36.59 in the finals of the 500 free, placing 27th out of 71 total competitors.

Matt Parsonage led four Roadrunner finalists in the 50 free, placing 18th in 21.02. Malcolm Reid was 21st in 21.38, Kevin Miller was 26th in 21.55 and Dan Wickensheimer was 30th in 21.79
Fresno Pacific tops CSUB in volleyball
FRESNO -- Playing a team with the international firepower of Fresno Pacific is a difficult enough task on its own. Playing the Sunbirds on senior night made life even tougher on the Cal State Bakersfield volleyball team, which was on the receiving end of FPU's 25-13, 25-16, 25-21 sweep at the FPU Special Event Center.
CSUB never got its offensive going, hitting just .089 for the match -- its lowest attack percentage in 48 matches dating back to last season. Sophomore middle blocker Alysia Baker was the only Roadrunner to reach double figures in kills, finishing with 10.
CSUB returns home looking for a little senior day magic of its own, hosting San Jose State on Saturday at 1 p.m.
The match will carry some added individual drama as senior libero Kayla Williamson, a Stockdale High product, will be playing in her final collegiate match and needs just 17 digs to break Mystie McNaughton's school record for digs in a season (654).
