BC's James shoots 7-over 78, leads 'Gades to tourney win

CANYON COUNTRY -- Catherine James was low-medalist with a 7-over-par 78 to help the Bakersfield College women's golf team win a Western State Conference mini tournament Monday at Robinson Ranch Golf Course, solidifying its place atop the WSC standings.
BC's Ellen Krausse (80) was fourth and followed by teammates Dee Ray (5th, 81), Stacie Netzer (8th, 84) and Vivian Davis (104).
BC's team total was 323. Canyons (331) and Santa Barbara City (341) were the other full teams in the tourney.
Five schools were represented by individual players.
BC plays another WSC mini tourney Wednesday at San Dimas Canyon, a makeup of a tourney rained out last week.
