Local report: BC women improve to 3-0 in WSC

Emilee Parks had 20 points, eight steals and four assists as Bakersfield College improved to 3-0 in Western State Conference women's basketball play Wednesday with a 60-50 win over College of the Canyons at the Gil Bishop Sports Center.
Jausecca Cockerel had nine points and seven assists and Brittany Smith had 11 points for the Renegades (10-5 overall).
"We haven't beaten Canyons in years, so I'm happy," BC coach Paula Dahl said.
BC is at L.A. Valley Saturday.
BC MEN WIN IN OVERTIME
Danny Womack made four free throws in the final minute to help the Bakersfield College men's basketball team hold off College of the Canyons 55-50 in overtime.
The Renegades (7-11, 1-2 WSC) led Canyons (10-8, 1-2) 26-13 at halftime but fell behind on a Canyons 3-pointer with 15 seconds left.
Conroy Lester, who led the 'Gades with 16 points, was fouled on the ensuing possession and hit one free throw to send the game to overtime. Antonio Johnson had 11 points for BC, and Womack scored 9.
NBA D-LEAGUE: JAM RIPS STAMPEDE
RENO, Nev. -- Juan Pattillo scored a season-high 33 points and had nine rebounds to lead the Bakersfield Jam to a 113-98 win over the Idaho Stampede at the 2012 NBA D-League Showcase.
Jeremy Wise added 16 points for the Jam, which went 1-1 at the Showcase.
Renaldo Major scored 15, and Solomon Alabi finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Former NBA veteran Antoine Walker led Idaho with 18 points.
The Jam returns home to host Austin at 7 p.m. Friday.
