Emilio Huerta on Off the Press
The Bakersfield Californian

Emilio Huerta, the son of United Farm Workers co-founder Dolores Huerta, spoke about his campaign for the 21st Congressional District with TBC Media's Off the Press co-hosts on August 4.

Huerta discussed his experiences growing up and his ideas for making the rural 21st District, which runs from Southeast Bakersfield through Arvin and Lamont and north through Kings County and the rural areas of Tulare and Fresno counties.

He faces stiff competition in the form of incumbent Congressman David Valadao, R-Hanford who - despite a 15 to 17 point Democratic advantage in voter registration in the 21st District - has twice won election to the seat with breezy ease.

Huerta hopes to reverse that record and win the seat back for Democrats and the Latino majority of the district's residents.
