TBC Media will take this year’s crop of political candidates “Off the Press” when it launches a new political talk show at 2 p.m. today on bakersfield.com.

“Off the Press” is an hour-long talk show hosted by Bakersfield Californian government and political reporters and political veterans Nicole Parra and Russell Johnson. It aims to give voters a more personal look into the lives of the people running for office in Kern County this year.

Candidates for local races for Congress, state Assembly, Bakersfield mayor and Bakersfield City Council will join three hosts for a live, hour-long discussion every Wednesday and Thursday afternoon from 2 to 3 p.m.

Today’s show features Bakersfield City Councilman Terry Maxwell, followed up the next afternoon with Bakersfield City School District Trustee Andrae Gonzales, who has announced a campaign to unseat Maxwell.

Viewers can watch “Off the Press” on bakersfield.com or view it on The Bakersfield Californian’s Facebook page.
