A new sign that was put up in Oildale earlier this week was vandalized.

Kern County Supervisor Mike Maggard posted on his Facebook page that someone had used spray paint on part of the sign, which was discovered Saturday morning. The sign has since been cleaned.

The new concrete sign was put up on north Chester Avenue this week to welcome residents and visitors to Oildale. Maggard oversaw the creation and installation of the sign.
