A motorcycle versus automobile collision left one man with moderate injuries Saturday evening, the Bakersfield Police Department reported.

Officers were dispatched to east 21st and Kern streets about 5:47 p.m. Saturday.

Preliminary investigation suggests the motorcycle rider was westbound on 21st going faster than the posted limit of 35 mile per hour.

A man driving a four-door sedan was headed north on Kern and failed to yield to the motorcyclist.

It was unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor regarding the motorcyclist.

The driver of the sedan was not under the influence, according to BPD.
