Madison Street will experience one-way traffic and Cottonwood Road's outside southbound lane will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, the Thomas Roads Improvement Program announced Tuesday in a news release.

Flagging personnel will be in place on Madison Street between Brundage Lane and Darrell Street from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to stop vehicles for no more than 10 minutes at a time, the release said.

This closure is to allow workers to pour concrete for widening the Madison Street Bridge over Highway 58.

The Cottonwood Road lane will be closed between Brundage Lane and Padre Street.

The lane closure is not expected to affect northbound lanes on Cottonwood Road and one southbound lane will be left open, TRIP said.

TRIP encourages motorists to take an alternate route or allow extra travel time while work is underway.
