Two die when motorcycle hits car in Kernville

A motorcycle driver and his female passenger, both Bakersfield residents, were killed Saturday morning after colliding with a car in rural Kernville, the county sheriff's office reported.
The 58-year-old driver was driving a 2003 Harvey Davidson motorcycle on Sierra Way south of Limestone Drive when he hit a 2003 Buick La Sabre at 9:45 a.m., according to a sheriff's news release.
The motorcycle driver died at 11:38 a.m. at Kern Valley Hospital District, and his 57-year-old passenger died at 11:30 after being air lifted to Kern Medical Center.
Their names were not released.
