Man arrested following wrecks in central Bakersfield

Police arrested a man Saturday following a hit-and-run accident in which a car was hit and a bicyclist injured.
Bakersfield police took Oscar Jose Gomez into custody after they say he drove his Chevy S-10 pickup into another vehicle near the intersection of Fourth Street and Chester Avenue. They were called to the accident at about 3:20 p.m.
After the wreck, he drove north on Chester Avenue and hit Miguel Jose Berger, who was riding his bicycle in the bike lane.
Berger suffered moderate injuries.
Gomez took off again and was found later at 1101 Oleander Ave.
He was booked into county jail on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and felony driving under the influence, according to the Bakersfield Police
