Kaiser Permanente announced new positions for DRS. REX TRUONG and KEVIN STILES.
Truong was appointed to become the organization’s new internal medicine chief of service. A graduate of Ross Medical University Medical School in the West Indies, Truong joined Kaiser in September 2003. He started his leadership role as diabetes mellitus champion for population care management, helping make Kern Kaiser’s top performer in diabetes. He has also worked to train physicians in HealthConnect, Kaiser’s electronic records system, and will continue to do so.
Stiles accepted the role of internal medicine assistant chief of service. He attended Georgetown University School of Medicine and joined Kaiser in July 2004. In 2008 he won the Physician Exceptional Contribution Award. As PLOS of nephrology and medical director of Fresenius Dialysis Center, Stiles has led Kern in becoming the most successful peritoneal dialysis service with the lowest hospital admission rate. He will continue to have a leadership role in the nephrology service and dialysis center.
CAROL PARKS has joined Memorial Occupational Medicine as a marketing representative. In her new position she is to market new business for the practice and provide customer service support. She has three years of experience in occupational medicine marketing and customer service, and previously worked as a business developer for Kern Economic Development Corp.
STEVE SNIDER has won Allstate Insurance Co.’s Chairman’s Conference award for meeting high standards in customer satisfaction, customer retention and business growth. His Steven Snider Agency, in Bakersfield, is among only 6 percent of agencies and personal financial representatives to achieve the honor. He has been an entrepreneur in the Bakersfield area for 22 years.
CAROLE WALLIS has joined RE/MAX Magic. A Bakersfield resident for more than 35 years, Wallis left banking in 1994 to enter the real estate field. The company said she is consistently a multimillion-dollar producer.
BRANDON KENNEDY has completed training to become a certified multimedia specialist, allowing his Bakersfield company, Proforma Solutions Supplier, to expand its offerings to include Web design, 3D animation, interactive graphics, motion graphics and video production. The company also provides printing services, business documents and marketing, promotions and e-commerce solutions.
ASHLEY GALLO has joined Interim HealthCare in its Senior Placement Services division. Gallo formerly worked for Senior Care Placement Professionals, which was purchased by Interim. She specializes in helping families select residential care facilities.
The Kern County Paralegal Association recently honored several professionals in the field locally.
BARBARA OLDFIELD was named the group’s Paralegal of the Year. She works as a paralegal with Klein, DeNatale, Goldner, Cooper, Rosenlieb and Kimball LLP, in Bakersfield. The law firm nominated her because, it said, she is “a standout among her peers.”
JESSICA STAHL received the association’s Outstanding Member of the Year award. She is a legal assistant and secretary with Klein DeNatale, working in civil litigation, international law, family law, Medi-Cal and estate planning. The award is given to members who contribute to the association’s efforts.
LAURA MEZA was named Volunteer of the Year by the group for her efforts on behalf of the association. She is a secretary and interpreter in Klein DeNatale’s bankruptcy department.
SISSY RUCKER received the group’s Jeannie Conner Memorial Scholarship, which helps pay for paralegal students or professionals to continue their education. Rucker, a paralegal in Klein DeNatale’s bankruptcy department, has been in the legal professional since 1980. She earned an associate’s degree at Bakersfield College, and attended California Pacific School of Law for one year.
