The Boys and Girls Clubs of Kern County is holding open houses at three locations from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday.
"Open Club Night" has been organized for parents to tour the facilities, meet club staffers and learn more about ongoing projects.
The event will take place at the Armstrong Youth Center, 801 Niles St.; the Stockdale Club, 5207 Young St.; and the Lamont Club, 8301 Segrue Road.
Chick-fil-A is honoring educators with free breakfast at its Bakersfield location each Monday this month.
Teachers, faculty and staff with valid school identification will receive a complimentary breakfast entree from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. on the designated days. The restaurant is at 5260 Stockdale Highway near California Avenue.
In addition, teachers of grades K-12 at schools within Bakersfield city limits can sign up by Sept. 10 to receive a coupon for a tray of chicken nuggets to be used for a classroom party before the end of the year.

AT&T has added 19 new Spanish-language channels to its U-verse television lineup, according to a company press release.
Viewers will now have access to as many as 56 Spanish channels, depending on the package.
The new stations will be provided at no extra cost to customers with existing Spanish-language packages, according to the release.
