In honor of Independence Day, our nation's most patriotic of holidays, we asked readers to tell us which freedom is the most important. Look for the essays every day through July 4. The following quotes are from children at Laurel Glen summer day camp.
Collin, 11: Freedom means that you can have the right to do what you want. You can choose what you can eat, wear, and what you want to do for your job. You still have to do your chores, though.
Lucas, 5: Freedom means you can do what you want except being mean to others.
Rainer, 6: Freedom means people like us get to what we want but others far way don't.
Liam, 7: You get to do whatever you want if it is OK with mom.
Ian, 6: Freedom means that you can choose what you want to do and pick what you want to wear.
Emma, 7: Freedom means a lot because other people in the world don't get to do what they want. The statue of Liberty represents the dreams of America.

Amanda, 9: Most people in other countries don't get much freedom because they're poor.
Nathan, 6: Freedom means we get to do what we want to do in our country.
Liam, 8: Freedom means that all people in America can be free.
Madison, 5: Freedom means I can have the friends I want.
Dayne, 5: Freedom means I can have friends everywhere.
Jackson, 6: Freedom means to have fun with my family and friends.
Melonie, 7: Freedom means I can have friends all over the world.
