Adventist Health Bakersfield is offering free cancer screenings for veterans from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 13 at the AIS Cancer Center, located at 2620 Chester Ave.

The hospital is offering free prostate, breast and lung screenings.

Adventist Health recommends annual prostate screenings for men as young as 50, and men with a close family history of prostate cancer or of African American descent should also consider a screening at age 45.

Clinical breast exams are recommended every three years for women in the 20's and 30's and annual for women 40 and older, Adventist Health says.

Lung screenings are recommended for those 55-80 years old who currently smoke or quit within the past 15 years.
