Former Bakersfield Mayor Harvey Hall will be inducted into the Rabobank Arena Hall of Fame at 9 a.m. on Friday.
The Hall of Fame recognizes citizens who have had a major impact on the community. Hall was Bakersfield's longest-serving mayor at 16 years. He also founded Hall Ambulance Service.
“During his tenure as mayor, Harvey Hall was not only the city’s biggest cheerleader, he took action to foster unity in the community,” said City Manager Alan Tandy. “This recognition is a fitting tribute to his devotion to Bakersfield.”
The Rabobank Arena Hall of Fame, located in the arena foyer's west hallway, features 15 honorees at any one time and is meant to show off their accomplishments to people who visit the arena for games, concerts and other events.
The Hall of Fame's displays consist of a picture of the inductee and a 250-word description of their achievements. Directly beneath the text display is a glass case for the display of items relating to the achievements of the honoree.
The Downtown Business Association will hold its first Health and Wellness Expo on Jan. 13.
