The Bakersfield City School District will hold its Teacher Job Fair on March 17.
The fair will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Downtown Elementary School, 2021 M Street. Information will be provided about openings in the district, with school staff on hand to answer questions. The event will also offer onsite interviews.
While new positions will be one of the major focuses of the fair, the district said it will also provide the opportunity for candidates to interview for promotional positions in the district. These positions require previous successful classroom experience.

Adventist Health Bakersfield will be handing out red hats to newborns on Wednesday as part of its Little Hats, Big Hearts program.
Babies will be given the hats, crocheted by community volunteers, at 10 a.m. Adventist Health is asking people to meet in front of the hospital, 2615 Chester Ave. The Little Hats, Big Hearts program, held in partnership with the American Heart Association, aims to raise awareness about heart disease and congenital birth defects.

The Bakersfield College Industrial Automation program is holding three information sessions about what the program offers.
The sessions will be held Feb. 20, 24 and 27. The first one runs from 1-2 p.m. The second is 10-11 a.m. and the third is 6-7 p.m. All three will be held in the Science and Engineering Building, room 46. Each session will feature a Q&A afterward.
The program prepares students for careers in the design, operation and management of industrial automation systems.
