The Bakersfield High Class of 1952 will be holding a reunion later this spring.

A luncheon will be held on April 21 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Crest Bar and Grill, 5025 Wible Road. For more information, call 747-4337.

A Bakersfield man has been appointed to the state’s Oil Spill Technical Advisory Committee.

According to Gov. Jerry Brown’s Office, 35-year-old Joseph Cobb will be on the committee. Cobb has been a spill and emergency response coordinator at Aera Energy since 2014. Prior to that, he has been a health and safety specialist there as well as a paramedic for Hall Ambulance from 2005 to 2009.

Cobb, a Republican, will be given a $100 per diem for being on the committee.
