Numerous local animal welfare organizations will be on hand Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Kern County Fairgrounds for a first-ever "Mega Adopt Event."

The event is free and open to the public, who are invited to come find their best furry friends.

The event will be held in Building 3.

More than 20 animal organizations and vendors are participating.
