BARBARA RYEA has earned the Advanced Paralegal Certification in Trial Practice designation, something achieved by only 14 people in California and 158 nationwide. Ryea, who is also certified as a legal assistant and as a California Advanced Specialist in Civil Litigation, works as a legal assistant with the Bakersfield law firm of Chain Cohn Stiles.
MIKE CHERTOK has joined the Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra as director of development. A member of the symphony's board of directors, Chertok recently retired from Cal State Bakersfield as vice president of university advancement.
NONDY LLEWELLYN recently earned a national certification in skin therapy, making her one of fewer than 10 estheticians in the state to achieve the designation. Llewellyn is self-employed at Skinsation Med-Spa, and works as an instructor at Federico’s Career College on Calloway Drive. She is a member of the National Coalition of Estheticians & Associations, and of the Society of Dermatology Skincare Specialists.
VIRGINIA ALVIDREZ has joined the medical staff of Memorial Occupational Medicine as an associate physician. A Taft native, she is to specialize in occupational medicine with a concentration in workers compensation. She earned an undergraduate degree at Cal State Bakersfield and graduated from Ross University School of Medicine.
