JEFFREY MESTMAKER has become CEO of Mestmaker & Petrey Wealth Advisors Inc., a new registered investment advisory firm in Bakersfield. Mestmaker, the firm’s co-founder, worked with Morgan Stanley from 2005 until January. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics at Loyola Marymount University Los Angeles.

The Kern County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce announced its new executive board of directors. They are: JOE JIMENEZ, JAY TAMSI, JESSE BONALES, JAN BANS, RAMONA HERRERA and FERNANDO AGUIRRE.

Jimenez is the chamber’s interim CEO and chairman. He is the marketing/group law director at the law firm of Chain Cohn Stiles. He also is a regional director of the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce.

Tamsi is vice-chairman of the board. A senior formulations specialist at Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream Inc., he serves on boards including that of the Kern County Youth Mariachi Foundation.

Bonales is the board’s treasurer. He is vice-president and store manager at Wells Fargo Bank’s downtown Bakersfield branch. He is a member of Goodwill Industries of South Central California’s executive board of directors.

Bans is board secretary. Area director of external affairs for AT&T, she serves on boards including those of the Bakersfield Homeless Center and the Kern County Board of Trade.

Herrera is the board’s chairwoman-elect. She is a State Farm agent with her own agency in Shafter. Herrera is a member and past treasurer of the Shafter Rotary Club.

Aguirre is past-chairman of the board. President of iKnowtechnology Inc., he is an active member of the East Bakersfield Rotary Club.

JAKE STAFFORD, TRISHIA BLACK and TINA HOLLINS have joined People Realty Inc. Stafford is an associate broker and former owner of NOR Realty. He came to People Realty with Black, a former NOR associate and licensed buyer’s agent.

STEVE KARCHER has been named senior counsel in the Bakersfield office of Borton Petrini LLP. He has more than two decades of legal experience, as well as 10 years of experience managing a small business. He specializes in creditor bankruptcy, real estate, business law, litigation, transactions and corporate matters.
