JOHN BIDART has been named a board member of Mission Bancorp, the holding company of Mission Bank. A third-generation dairyman, Bidart is a partner in Bidart Dairy LLC, and is involved in Old River Farming LLC, Wildwood Farms LLC and California Bioenergy LLC. The Loyola Marymount University graduate is also on the board of California Dairies Inc., and serves as chairman of its finance committee.

TOM KEENE has been named to the Service Team of Professionals 2009 President’s Club. His company has delivered emergency service and repairs to water and fire-damaged properties in the Bakersfield area since 1989. His was among top franchises recently honored in Las Vegas by the national organization.

JENS MIKKELSEN has been appointed production manager at Service Team of Professionals. Mikkelsen has experience in new home construction and remodeling. He has been with the water and fire damage restoration company for two years.

WARNER KIND has joined the law firm of Bowman & Associates as a new associate attorney. Kind earned a bachelor’s degree in political science at the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2001. After working for several years as a project engineer in construction, he returned to school and earned a law degree at California Western School of Law in 2008. While in school he worked as a law clerk at the Carlin Law Group in San Diego. Bowman & Associates specializes in estate planning, probate, family law, business formations and civil litigation.

RUSSELL HICKS has joined Bowman & Associates as an attorney “of counsel.” Hicks earned his law degree at USC School of Law in 1976. After working at Bodkin, McCarthy, Sargent & Smith, he left to join Bank of America’s 350-member legal department. He began working for a Bakersfield firm in 1989 before establishing his own practice. He later shifted his practice to litigation support, focus groups, legal research and writing.

KRISTINE MULLEN has joined RE/MAX Golden Empire. The South High graduate previously worked with Prudential. Mullen earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice at Cal State Bakersfield in 1999. She has also worked as a social worker and as a crime scene investigator.

TOM SVARE, BRANDI THRESHER and COLIN RIMER have been awarded the Best of Show Award at the MBBI Awards of Distinction in the Renovated Reuse category for their work on Pirate’s Cove. Svare is branch manager of Pac-Van Inc., a mobile office provider; Thresher works as his executive assistant. Rimer owns Kern Module Homes. The Pirate’s Cove project also won first place in the Greatest Revision under 10,000 square feet category.

PATRICIA KEEFER has joined Cal State Bakersfield’s Division of University Advancement as development officer for major gifts. A university alumna, Bakersfield native and local business professional, Keefer has nine years of experience in marketing, including her work over the last two and a half years as director of marketing and business development at a local nonprofit. In her new position she is to cultivate community relationships and raise money from private donors and businesses. She earned a master’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s in business administration with a marketing concentration.
