A new Japanese restaurant has opened in downtown Bakersfield at 1419 19th St.
The brainchild of the operators of Toro Sushi (also in Bakersfield), Enso Japanese Bar offers fusion cuisine blending an array of influences. Dishes range from sushi rolls to steaks and skewer-style appetizers. Enso also offers a selection of domestic and import beers, as well as wines and sake.
The 4,500-square-foot restaurant opened Nov. 2, and is in the process of obtaining a liquor license for a full-service bar and lounge that it hopes to open in its basement.
An online clothing boutique has opened a brick and mortar store at 9510 Flushing Quail Road inside Envy Salon in Bakersfield.
Kimberly Lawson launched OohLaLuxe.com in May 2008, and last week opened her physical store in Bakersfield.
Lawson is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles.
Ooh La Luxe! fashion boutique sells celebrity-endorsed labels and a range of merchandise that includes cocktail dresses, tops, handbags, scarves and lounge wear.
