RYAN CROSBY has received the 2009 Personal Insurance High Achiever Award from Travelers Insurance for the state of California. The award honors agents who provide superior customer service and contribute to the company’s success. Crosby is a third generation agent with Crosby and Crosby Insurance.
MAUREEN BUSCHER-DANG has been appointed to Safe 1 Credit Union’s board of directors. Buscher-Dang is president of Buscher & Associates, a public relations, marketing and advertising firm. Previously employed at a law firm, she has 25 years of experience in marketing and public relations. Safe 1 has six branches in Bakersfield, Tehachapi, Delano and Porterville.
RILEY PARKER has been appointed chairman of Scholarship Committee of the California Association of Licensed Investigators. Parker, founder of Parker & Associates Professional Investigations, is the 2009-10 director of the association’s San Joaquin District.
DIANNE HOOVER has been elected to serve as president-elect of the National Recreation and Park Association Board of Directors. She was installed to the position Oct. 17 in Salt Lake City. Hoover works as director of the city of Bakersfield’s Department of Recreation and Parks.
Bakersfield-based Fleet Card Fuels announced the appointment of two new vice presidents, BRIAN ALDERETE and VITO SIMPLICIO.
Alderete directs the company’s fuel procurement, logistics, inventory management, delivery, pricing and bulk fuel sales and services. He joined Fleet Card in 2008 as a bulk fuels salesman, and in April he was promoted to become director of supply, logistics and bulk fuel. He has more than 10 years in the fuel distribution business.
Simplicio oversees sales for Fleet Card’s cardlock and branded fuel sales divisions. He has 30 years of experience in local and regional sales and marketing. Most recently he worked as vice president of sales and marketing for Centex, the national homebuilder.
GEORGE DEMOS has earned the designation of Certified Turnaround Professional. The title signifies that he has completed a rigorous examination covering topics such as crisis management, financial and managerial accounting and bankruptcy. He also had to meet requirements in the areas of education, experience and professional conduct. Demos is principal and CEO of Bakersfield’s CFO Resources Inc. He is a member of the Los Angeles chapter of the Turnaround Management Association, which awarded the designation.
SONIA COLLIER has become a real estate agent with Roberson Real Estate. She previously worked as a constructive coordinator with the firm since 2003.
