Rabobank N.A. has appointed a new southern Central Valley president, an 18-year banking veteran who will be responsible for all bank services and strategic growth in Kern, Kings, Fresno and Tulare counties.
The appointment of Anker Fanoe follows the recent departure of Michael Olague, the 30-year industry veteran who, from his base in Bakersfield, served as Rabobank's senior vice president and sales director managing the bank's community and business banking offices in the San Joaquin Valley, Coachella Valley, Glendale, Imperial Valley and Ontario.
Rabobank has declined to comment on Olague's departure. Olague has not responded to requests for comment.
Fanoe previously worked for Washington Mutual as senior vice president and market manager for relationship banking and investments. He also served as region manager for business banking at Citibank in Northern California and Nevada, and as business banking marketing manager for Bank of America in California, Oregon and Washington.
Fanoe earned an economics degree at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Rabobank issued a news release about Fanoe's appointment Wednesday. Bank officials could not be reached for comment Thursday.
Rabobank has 92 retail branches, three of them in Bakersfield. It serves individuals, businesses and agriculture clients.
