Bakersfield precast concrete company StructureCast has earned national recognition for its work last year on an underground pedestrian boardwalk in San Clemente.
StructureCast won first place in the Underground category of the National Precast Concrete Association’s Creative Use of Precast awards program. The award was presented to the company last month in Houston.
The Mariposa Point Crossing project was commissioned by city of San Clemente to provide a safer pedestrian crossing alternative to walking over railroad tracks.
The project required StructureCast to install 20 sections of precast concrete in a tight, 40-hour window.
StructureCast has operated in Bakersfield for more than 30 years, producing precast materials that have ranged from wall panels to underground storm water treatment vaults.
