Valley Republic Bank, a new commercial bank in Bakersfield, recently announced five additions to its management team.
CINDY TALLEYbecomes vice president-compliance risk management officer. Talley has more than 30 years of banking experience in compliance regulations, operations and customer service. She previously worked as vice president-administrative operations officer with another local bank.
CATHY DAVIESis the bank’s new vice president-operations officer. She has 25 years of banking experience, and spent the last 12 years as a vice president-customer service manager with a large national bank in Bakersfield.
ROXANA CHAVEZwas named vice president-loan servicing officer, managing Valley Republic’s loan services department. For the last decade Chavez worked as a loan service manager with a local community bank. Before that she worked for 10 years at a national bank.
PRITESH PATELwas appointed vice president-loan officer. In addition to his loan preparation duties, Patel works in business development and account relationships. Patel earned a finance degree at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He worked as a credit analyst and commercial loan officer at a community bank before joining Valley Republic.
MARCY UNRUHbecomes vice president-administrative officer. She has more than 20 years of management experience in human resources and office administration. Unruh also was appointed corporate secretary.
ED KREISERwon a Fellowship Merit Award from Professional Photographers of California. The honor was given after Kreiser earned the requisite number of points, 20, at print competitions; he has accumulated 25 with his last convention print judging.
JIM LA MARhas been named president of the Marshall E. Helm Corp., which does business as Greenlawn Mortuaries and Cemeteries, and Wood Family Funeral Services Inc. A licensed funeral director, cemetery manager and crematory manager, La Mar has worked in the funeral industry since 1990. He became a sales manager for Greenlawn in 1993, and returned to the company after working for more than three years as a regional director for Forethought Financial Services. He was named Bakersfield Christian High School’s Volunteer of the Year for 2005.
JIALAN SUhas been elected 2009 president of the Chinese American Association of Kern County. The group was incorporated in 1992, and provides cultural, educational and recreational programs to foster fellowship and promote Chinese heritage in the community. Su is an audit manager at Brown Armstrong Accountancy Corp. in Bakersfield.
DIANA BRANTHOOVERhas been elected 2009 treasurer for the Shafter Chamber of Commerce. Branthoover, a certified public accountant with Brown Armstrong, is to be responsible for maintaining the chamber’s cash accounts and monitoring its budget. Brown Armstrong has had an office in Shafter since 2000.
