Yrulegui & Roberts, a nearly 40-year-old workers’ compensation defense law firm based in Fresno, has expanded into Bakersfield with the help of a local lawyer.
The new office at 1800 30th St., Suite 130, is located in the same building as the state Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board. It is staffed by John A. Robinson, who is a lawyer formerly with Hannah Brophy LLC in Bakersfield, and a paralegal.
Senior Partner Joe Yrulegui said lawyers with the firm have long made the drive from Fresno and Bakersfield. Given the large number of clients Yrulegui & Roberts has in Kern, he said, the firm decided it was time to open a Bakersfield office.
Les Schwab Tire Centers has opened its fifth Bakersfield location just about two years after first setting up shop in the city.
The store at 3012 Buck Owens Blvd. sells tires, batteries and shocks. It is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Bend, Ore.-based company has more than 475 locations across the West, including Bakersfield stores at 4901 Ming Ave. and 2512 Oswell St. It recently opened a store in Hanford at 330 N. 12th Ave.
U-Haul has signed up a new neighborhood dealer in the Oildale area: King’s Auto.
The location, owned by Danette King, offers rental trucks, towing equipment and trailers, as well as boxes for in-store pick-up. It also sells trucks.
The hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
