The Kern County Board of Trade is encouraging nonprofits and small businesses that are working to promote tourism in Kern County to apply for $100,000 worth of grants.

The grants, funded by the County of Kern, can be up to $10,000 each and will go to companies for marketing efforts that have the potential to bring tourists to the county.

The deadline to submit a grant is 5 p.m. Oct. 27.

Applications for the grants are available at www.visitkern.com/grants.
