A Wasco couple were arrested Thursday after deputies said they sold methamphetamine out of their residence.

Several months ago, deputies began an investigation into sales of meth in Wasco and developed probable cause to search a residence in the 2200 block of 2nd Street, according to sheriff's officials.

During the search, deputies seized 2 pounds of meth and more than $16,000 in cash, according to sheriff's officials.

They arrested Luis Magallanes, 30, and his wife, Ashley Toscano, 24, on suspicion of possession of meth for sale, child endangerment and maintaining a residence for the purpose of drug sales, among other offenses.
