Police arrested Corey Wayne Thomas, 24, on charges of criminal threats after being wanted for allegedly threatening a Valley Plaza security officer.

Bakersfield Police Department

The Bakersfield Police Department announced it has located the man it suspects threatened to kill a Valley Plaza mall security guard on April 8.

With the community's assistance, police identified and arrested Corey Wayne Thomas, 24, on charges of criminal threats.

On Thursday, police had asked for the public’s help in locating a heavily tattooed man who rode a bicycle through Valley Plaza mall and threatened to kill a security guard.

The man had motioned to his waistband during the confrontation and told security officers he had a gun, BPD said, but no gun was seen.

He also was involved in a previous incident with security where he had brandished a knife, police said.
