Authorities have identified the bodies of two more people who went missing in the Kern River this past month.

The coroner's office said Wednesday said the bodies of Mando Eugene Kaphen, 26, of Hemet, and Kim Phov, 37, of Long Beach, have been identified.

Kaphen went missing July 2 and his body was found Sunday in the river at Burlando and Old Cemetery Road in Wofford Heights, according to the coroner's office.

Phov was reported missing July 8. Her body was found five days later in Carrier Canal a mile west of Round Mountain Road, the coroner's office said.

Autopsies will be performed on both of them.

By The Californian's tally, this brings the number of confirmed deaths on the Kern River this year to 10.
