Deputies arrested two people Sunday in a shooting outside a Mojave Fastrip that killed on person and injured another.
Kern County sheriff's officials said Dante Strong, 20, and Blu Tuch, 21, were arrested on charges including murder and robbery when deputies dispatched at 7:37 p.m. stopped them after they fled the scene.
A gun was thrown from the suspect vehicle, according to sheriff's officials.
Deputies arrived at the Fastrip at Highways 58 and 14 and found two victims of a shooting near the store, sheriff's officials said. One was dead and the other suffering from moderate to major injuries.
Deputies said it appeared the suspects and victims met in the parking lot to the rear of the Fastrip when Strong pulled a gun and shot both victims in a possible robbery attempt. The surviving victim briefly chased the suspects on foot, but Strong and Tuch got in their vehicle and fled before being stopped by deputies shortly afterward.
