Local law enforcement are partnering with several organizations for a free "Trunk or Treat" event Friday at the Kern County Sheriff's Office's east Bakersfield substation.

Vehicles from different agencies will be lined up with trunks open as organizers hand out treats from 5 to 7 p.m. to children 12 and under, a Sheriff's Office release said. The event also features a haunted house, spooky maze and face painting.

Supplies are limited to the first 300 children.

The substation is located at 1700 Flower St.
