A Taft man is accused of setting fire to a residence in Tupman, starting a blaze that also damaged a church and vehicle, Kern County firefighters said.

Raymond Mosier was arrested Thursday on four counts of arson in connection with the Aug. 7 blaze, according to firefighters.

The fire was reported at 1:30 a.m., and firefighters said they arrived to find the residence fully ablaze. They protected the Tupman Post Office from damage.

Tupman is west of Interstate 5 and south of the Tule Elk Reserve.
