A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and filing of charges against those responsible in the shooting death of a 3-year-old boy last month.
Police said Friday that Secret Witness of Kern County received a donation from a local resident to go toward a reward in identifying the killers of Major Sutton on Nov. 10 in the 800 block of Pershing Road.
Two other victims, a woman and a 5-year-old, survived after the shooter or shooters forced their way inside a residence, police said.
And police are continuing to search for leads in a shooting earlier this year that killed a 5-year-old. On Feb. 23, Kason Guyton was shot and killed while riding in a car in the 600 block of California Avenue. His brother, Brian Guyton, 7, was wounded but survived.
The boys were in a car driven by 31-year-old Davyon Vercher, a member of the East Side Crips who was on parole at the time of the shooting, court filings said. Vercher was dating the boys' mother.
Anyone with information regarding these investigations is asked to call Secret Witness at 322-4040 or the Bakersfield Police Department at 327-7111.
