Three massage parlors in Kern County were ordered to close Monday after employees solicited undercover detectives during a sting operation.

The targeted facilities were Sunflower Massage on Airport Drive, Sweet Asian Massage on Norris Road and New Oriental Massage on North Chester Avenue, according to a Kern County Public Health Services news release.

Sheriff's detectives cited Chunping Li, 54, on charges of exposing and touching genitals, and Zhaomei Liang, 51, and Bao Hong Dong, 55, on suspicion of solicitation for prostitution, according to the release.

This marks the second sting operation under a new county ordinance where Public Health regulates massage establishments to ensure they maintain a safe and sanitary environment as well as establish reasonable standards to reduce the opportunity for acts of prostitution and human trafficking to occur.

Anyone who suspects illicit activity at a massage facility is asked to call Kern County Public Health Services at 321-3000.
