Police are asking the public for information in the deaths of two young boys who were shot and killed in separate incidents this past year.

Last Friday, Major Sutton, 3, was fatally shot at about 11:45 p.m. by a gunman or gunmen who forced their way inside a residence in the 800 block of Pershing Street, police said. A woman and 5-year-old boy were also shot, but survived. shooting that also injured two others has been identified.

On Feb. 23, Kason Guyton, 5, was shot and killed while riding in a car in the 600 block of California Avenue. His brother, Brian Guyton, 7, was wounded but survived.

The boys were in a car driven by 31-year-old Davyon Vercher, a member of the East Side Crips who was on parole at the time of the shooting, court filings said. Vercher was dating the boys' mother.
