A motorist ran a red light and hit a Bakersfield police cruiser Wednesday morning, police said.

The crash happened at 10:51 a.m. at the intersection of Truxtun and Chester avenues.

The cruiser, heading east on Truxtun, entered the intersection when a motorist traveling south on Chester drove through a red light and hit it, police said. The two officers traveling in the cruiser were uninjured, and the other motorist suffered minor injuries, police said.
