Glen Kaplan

Concord Police Department

A Concord man reported missing earlier this week could have passed through or be in the Bakersfield area, authorities say.

Glen Kaplan, 48, has not been seen or heard from since Monday, Concord police said. He is reportedly distraught over alcohol issues and a recent medical diagnosis, according to police.

Kaplan's cellphone was pinged in the area of Highway 99 near Porterville around 1 p.m. Tuesday, police said. It's possible he was heading to Las Vegas.

No criminal activity is suspected.

Kaplan is described as white, 5 foot 11 and 170 pounds. He was driving a charcoal-colored 2009 Toyota Camry, large white "HB" sticker on rear window, with California license plate 6UBM724.

Anyone with information regarding Kaplan's whereabouts is asked to call Concord police at 925-671-3333.
