A massive search will be held Saturday along 12 miles of the Kern River to find the body of a man who went missing while swimming more than six months ago.

The Sheriff's Office will send about 90 volunteers to search along the river for Juan Torrez from Hart Park to the Golden State Avenue bridge, according to sheriff's officials. Torrez, 34, went missing June 3 while swimming near Lake Ming.

To date, volunteers have spent more than 1,100 hours in 15 search missions trying to locate Torrez.
