A man who was charged with murder in the 2014 shooting of a man in Oildale has accepted a plea agreement, according to court records.

Paul Raymond Parra, 38, pleaded no contest to a charge of voluntary manslaughter in exchange for the dismissal of the murder count and possession of a firearm by a felon, court records show. 

Sentencing is set for April 10. 

Parra is accused of killing Keith Hurst in Oildale on Aug. 16, 2014. Hurst was shot once during an altercation in the 700 block of Woodrow Avenue.
