A man on probation who fled after deputies tried searching him in Wasco on Sunday was arrested shortly afterward and found in possession of heroin, according to sheriff's officials. 

Deputies who traced the route 29-year-old Joseph Gonzalez sped on a bicycle after deputies tried contacting him at the intersection of D Street and Poso Avenue also found a loaded .38-caliber revolver on the ground, sheriff's officials said. 

Gonzalez was arrested on suspicion of multiple weapons charges, resisting a peace officer, possession of heroin, participating in a criminal street gang and a misdemeanor arrest warrant for drug possession.
