A man was killed in a three-vehicle accident in Southeast Bakersfield on Friday.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, officers were sent to the intersection of White and Letzring lanes at around 7:35 p.m. after getting a report of a collision in the area. The department learned that a motorcyclist had hit two occupied vehicles.

The motorcyclist suffered major injuries from the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene, the department said.

The driver of one of the other vehicles fled from the area before police arrived. The vehicle was found abandoned near Planz and South Real roads. The department is still searching for the woman, who has been described as being in her 40s wearing a white printed shirt, possibly medical scrubs.

The department didn’t elaborate on why the driver felt the need to leave the scene.

Anyone with knowledge about the woman’s whereabouts are encouraged to call the police at 327-7111.
