A man was shot in his stomach in Northeast Bakersfield on Saturday.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office said that at about 12:39 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a

residence in the 2100 block of Elmyra Avenue after getting a report of a shooting in the area. Deputies found a 42-year-old man suffering major injuries from a gunshot wound to the stomach.

The victim was taken to Kern Medical Center for treatment. Anyone with information about the shooting is encouraged to call the department at 861-3110.
