A man who was injured in an alleged drunken driving crash on Taft Highway Sunday morning has died, according to a coroner's office release.

Francisco Javier De La Cruz, 25, died at Kern Medical Center about two hours after the 10:15 a.m. crash west of Stine Road, the release said.

Cruz was the driver of a pickup that was hit head-on by a sedan that swerved into its path as it traveled in the opposite direction, police said. It appeared the driver of the sedan was impaired by alcohol, police said.
