A man was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of being in possession of four assault rifles, the same type used in the recent shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida that killed 17 people.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office said 34-year-old Eric Palmer was found driving in the 1000 block of Quincy St. After deputies conducted a traffic stop on him, they did a search of his vehicle and reportedly found an AR-15 rifle and a high-capacity magazine.

Deputies then conducted a search of his residence and found three more AR-15s as well as hundreds of rounds of ammunition. Palmer was subsequently arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of multiple firearms and ammunition and possession of assault weapons.
