Composite sketch of shooting suspect.

Kern County Sheriff's Office

Sheriff's investigators have released a composite sketch of a suspect wanted for firing into a vehicle and striking two occupants, including a 15-year-old boy.

The shooting happened about 5:15 p.m. Sept. 4 in the 200 block of La Colina Drive in northeast Bakersfield, sheriff's officials said. The boy was struck in the head and remains in critical condition.

A motive has not been determined. Investigators say the suspect, described as a dark-skinned Hispanic man in his late 20s to early 30s, may have been driving a 2006 silver Honda Accord.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at 861-3110 or Secret Witness at 322-4040.
