Charles Manson is back in Bakersfield, according to TMZ.
The 83-year-old mass murderer, who was previously hospitalized in January due to gastrointestinal issues, was "rushed to a Bakersfield hospital three days ago, and has been wheeled around on a gurney for various treatments," TMZ reported Wednesday.
TMZ said its sources report Manson's health as steadily deteriorating.
KBAK Channel 29 reported correctional officers were outside Mercy Hospital downtown Wednesday afternoon.
Jessica Neeley, spokeswoman for Dignity Health Mercy and Memorial Hospitals, emailed that no information on a person by that name was available.
There has been no official confirmation Mason is in Bakersfield.
Manson is serving life without parole at Corcoran State Prison for leading his followers in a killing spree over two nights in 1969.
They killed actress Sharon Tate and four others at Tate's home on Aug. 9, 1969. Tate was 8 1/2-months pregnant at the time.
Grocers Leno and Rosemary LaBianca were killed the following evening.
